Pressure Ulcers
Rebuild. Heal. Recover.
A pressure ulcer is an injury to the skin and/or underlying tissue, as a result of pressure, or pressure in combination with shear and/or friction. A person having one or more of these factors is at risk for pressure-ulcer formation or progression:
- Bed- or chair-bound (immobility)
- Difficulty swallowing or chewing
- Poor nutrition (weight loss, muscle loss)
- Dehydration
- Poor circulation
- Stool and/or urinary incontinence
- Poor skin condition
- History of pressure ulcers
- Advanced age
Juven is a therapeutic nutrition drink mix that is clinically shown to support wound healing.
When you have a pressure ulcer and are losing muscle, your body has to compete for the same nutrients that help heal wounds and maintain or gain weight. This slows the healing process.
Juven contains a unique blend of three key ingredients: HMB, arginine, and glutamine. And it has been clinically shown to support wound healing and help build muscles.
Help your body's ability to heal wounds.
For people with pressure ulcers, getting your body to create collagen is an important step in healing. Collagen is a major component of skin and other tissue, and forming it is an important part of your body's repair process, including the closure of wounds.
Juven is clinically shown to enhance collagen formation in as little as two weeks*. Collagen is a valuable benefit to patients with pressure ulcers. You can simply mix Juven with water, or mix it with your favorite foods and beverages.
